Highlights of Burkina Faso 2

Highlights of Burkina Faso 2, 3 days

Burkina Faso, home to countless tribes and language groups, is one of Africa's richest in culture and nature. Some of the friendliest people in West Africa inhabit this landlocked country, where the traveller will find magnificent hospitality, magnificent architecture in Tiébélé and large herds of elephants in the Nazinga. The country has plenty to see for a long time, but this trip is designed to last three days, during which you will be able to scratch the surface of this relatively unknown African nation. With a knowledgeable guide in safety.

Day 1

Arrival in the capital, Ouagadougou. Ouagadougou is located in central Burkina Faso and has a population of around 2.5 million. We'll get to know the city better at the end of the trip, as we're now heading straight from the airport towards the south of the country and the border region with Ghana. There we will visit the Nazinga Game Reserve, where we will see elephants, various types of antelope and a large number of baboons. The safaris in West Africa may not compare to the safari destinations in East Africa, but here you'll probably have all the animals to yourself.

In the evening, we head to the village of Tiébélé, where we will stay overnight.

If your flight arrives in the afternoon or evening, you will spend your first night in Ouagadougou and will not leave for Nazinga and Tiébélé until the next morning.

Day 2

We are currently visiting in the land of the Kassena. The Kassenas are still largely animists, and so are many of the people here in Tiébélé. The village has been described the most beautiful in Burkina Faso for the tradition of painting houses with colourful decorative symbols. Each symbol has its own measning and painting is the work of women. The houses are particularly beautiful in the courtyard of the local royal family, where we will be guided by our Kassena guide. After the village visit, we return to Ouagadougou, a journey of about 180 kilometres, which takes three to four hours.

We return to Ouagadougou for the evening.

Day 3

Today we drive just under an hour south-west from Ouagadougou to the village of Bazoulé and the nearby lake, where we see sacred crocodiles. After the visit, we will return to Ouagadougou and explore this laid-back town with a city tour. At the end of the tour, we will transfer you either to your hotel or to the airport.
