Perhaps best known for its diamonds, Sierra Leone is a natural destination where you'll find unique tropical wildlife, but also pristine sandy beaches and the bustle of Freetown. In this short tour, we've put together the best bits of this stunning West African coastal nation.

If you want to continue your journey deeper into Sierra Leone, we recommend a few extra days. That way you'll have time to see the diamond mines too!

Day 1

Arrival at Freetown airport in Sierra Leone's capital, Freetown. The airport is located in Lungi, from where we will transfer you by boat to the centre of Freetown. Accommodation in Freetown.

Day 2

If you are continuing to Liberia after Sierra Leone, our first step is to visit the Liberian embassy to apply for a visa. After the embassy visit, we will take a city tour of Freetown, including the fishing port, the market, the remains of the massive Cotton Tree, the iconic national symbol of the country that fell in 2023, the National Museum, the Peace Museum and the National Railway Museum. Day 3

Sierra Leone attracts tourists especially for its paradise-like islands, with the forested Banana Island being the most accessible. Once there, we will take a tour of the islands. For an additional fee, we offer whale safaris, fishing safaris, snorkelling excursions, etc. We can stay overnight on the island at the Bafa Resort and its luxury tents. If you wish, we can also return to Freetown for the night.

Day 4

The chimpanzee is the national animal of Sierra Leone and there is a population of around 5 500 chimpanzees in the country. We will visit the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary on the outskirts of Freetown, which was established in 1988 to protect chimpanzees. The rest of the day will be spent on the beach at paradise beaches near Freetown, such as River No. 2. Return to Freetown for the night.

Day 5

We will take you back to the airport. If you wish, you can also continue with us to Liberia, for example, either by air or by land.
