Special travel conditions

SPECIAL TRAVEL CONDITIONS OF KAMELI TRAVEL LTD.

We comply with the general travel conditions negotiated by the Finnish Association of Travel Agents and the Consumer Ombudsman. In addition, we apply the attached special conditions based on section 1.3 of the General Conditions for Package Travel.

1.Creation of the contract and payments

A travel contract is concluded when you pay a booking fee of €370 and an office fee of €25 by the due date. The booking fee is due within seven (7) days of booking. The organiser has the right to cancel the contract if the payment is not made by the due date. The final payment is due 35 days before the start of the trip. If the booking is made less than 35 days before the start of the trip, the full price of the trip is payable at the time of booking.

Exceptional payment schedules are possible, for example to cover booking costs in travel destinations. We will inform you of any exceptional booking fees and payment schedules on a trip-by-trip basis.

4. Passenger liability and conditions of departure

The traveller or the person booking the trip must provide the exact names of the participants as they appear on the passports used for the trip. The booking agent/traveller must check the accuracy of the names and report any errors or changes immediately. Kameli Travel Ltd is not responsible for any change fees charged by service providers.

You should familiarise yourself with the materials and documentation you receive from Kameli Travel. No refunds will be made for unused and prepaid services. Any traveller who does not make full use of the service booked and/or leaves the group during the trip is obliged to inform Kameli Travel immediately, either by telephone or e-mail.

Participants are responsible for the cost of obtaining their own passport and any necessary visas and for the costs of obtaining them. Kameli Travel is not responsible for any damage or denial of departure or entry due to incorrect or incomplete travel documents (e.g. passport or visa). Participants should also ensure that their passports have sufficient blank pages for visas and entry stamps. Many countries require passports to be valid for a certain period (e.g. 6 months) after entry or intended exit.

The customer is obliged to arrive at the agreed times, for example for transport, meetings and accommodation, and to follow the instructions given by the tour operator or local guide. The organiser is not liable for any damage caused by the traveller's negligence or lateness.

Any airport taxes, disembarkation fees and other charges imposed by local authorities are payable locally and are not included in the price of the trip.

5. Execution of trips

The organiser has the right to cancel a trip if there are not enough participants (YME 10.1). The minimum group size for guided Kameli Travel tours is 6 persons, unless otherwise stated in the individual tour information. In the event of cancellation by the tour operator, the booking fee and any other payments made in advance by the customer will be refunded in full to the customer. Cancellation must be notified at least 30 days before the start of the trip.

Kameli Travel Ltd. also has the right to cancel a trip due to force majeure (e.g. political unrest, acts of war, natural disasters, strikes, etc.).

6. Changes and transfers

If the passenger wishes to transfer his/her trip or change his/her name, he/she must inform Kameli Travel without delay. We will charge the costs of the changes and transfers as well as an office fee of €25. It may not be possible to transfer or change the name of all trips, as some of our trips require us to obtain travel permits from local authorities in advance (e.g. in Chad).

Due to special conditions in the destinations, the accommodation, itinerary or services indicated in the itineraries may be subject to change for reasons beyond the control of Kameli Travel. We reserve the right to make changes to the programmes.

Kameli Travel reserves the right to increase prices after the conclusion of the contract in case of changes in taxes affecting the price of the trip, in the amount of third party charges or in the exchange rate. The exchange rate used for comparison is the rate on the date of the contract.

7. Travel insurance and the organiser's liability

Our trips do not include travel insurance or cancellation cover. We require all participants in our trips to have adequate travel insurance and cancellation cover appropriate to the nature of the trip. We recommend that you take out travel insurance with cancellation cover at the time of booking to protect yourself, your immediate family or a travelling companion in the event of illness. For some 'high-risk' countries, insurance can only be taken out for an additional contract and fee. For more information on high-risk countries and for instructions on how to extend your travel insurance, please contact your insurance company. We also recommend that you insure your luggage.

The organiser is not liable for damages caused by force majeure, natural disasters, strikes, terrorism or similar situations. Nor is the organiser liable for any damage to passengers or luggage. In addition to the traveller himself, the safety of the traveller abroad is the primary responsibility of the authorities of the country concerned. The traveller must act in accordance with the circumstances of the destination. Nor is the organiser responsible for delays or cancellations caused by the airline. In such cases, the airline is responsible for transporting the customer to his/her destination.

8. Disclosure of personal data

We transfer personal data relevant to the realisation of the trip to partners and authorities in the destination countries, for example for visa invitations and hotel reservations. We process data in accordance with EU data protection law.
